Spotting a Telemarketing Scam

Categories:

Usually, telemarketing scam artists won’t give you time to think about their pitch, out of fear that if they give you time you will figure out that they are not legitimate.  Consequently, they pressure you into saying “yes” immediately.

The following are some red flag examples…

“You have been specially selected.”
“You  have won one a valuable prize!” (but you have not entered any contests)
“You’ve won money in a foreign lottery.”
“This investment is low risk and provides a higher return than you can get anywhere else.”
“You have to make up your mind right away.”

Unfortunately, many of these scams originate from overseas, but if they are operating in the country there are laws in place to protect you.

If you are being harassed by telemarketers, please give my office, The Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman a call today at (877) 449-8898 for a free consultation.
